Hi all;
I'm not sure how to word this for a google search, so I thought I'd just go
right to this NG.
I have a site I'm about to start creating a massive CMS for (Perl/MySQL),
but it's got both an English and a French side to the site that will need
the CMS to handle.
Given that there are a fair number of people in the organization doing the
updates, there are quite a few of them who will not always have access to a
french keyboard for all of the french-side updates.
So what I was thinking was that if there were a pre-existing javascript
like snippet that I could incorporate into the update pages to help with
the accented characters, it'd make life a lot easier than displaying a big,
ugly table (or, yes, a CSS box

with either/or all of the ANSI escape
codes for the characters, or the numeric code character entities (for
example, a table with entries like:
Char ANSI Num. Code. Char
é ALT+135 é
I would imagine something that looks a little like a calculator, but with
all the accented characters in it - clicking on any accented character
would insert it into the last character position in a textarea box...
Anyone know of a handy little snippet like this ? (Or, failing that, a
pointer to where I could learn to write this exact type of tool)
TIA
