Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

I am trying to install IIS on a Win 2000 Pro machine.
Towards the end of the install (around when the dialog
states it is "Configuring IIS") an Error message pops
up "An MSDTC Error Has occured. Windows will have to
restart..."

It continues with the install however when we do check to
see if the machine is working, we get the 500 error
message.

Anyone has any suggestions?

If you are using Internet Explorer to view the page, please goto Tools ->
Internet Options -> Advanced and uncheck "Show Friendly HTTP Errors" and
reload the page.

Then post the detailed error message to the group.

Also, if there is anything in any of the Windows Event logs, please post
details (event id, event description etc)

Thanks

Cheers
Ken

I would look into COM+ (Component Services), and ensure you can browse down to COM+ Applications. If not, then that will have to
be fixed before IIS will install properly.

Thank you. I hope this information is helpful.
