Installation od IIS: file errors

When attempting to install IIS on my WinXP Pro sys (SP2 installed) I get the
following errors:

Setup cannot copy the file uiihelper.dll.

There are a great number of .dll files that I get this error with. The
install utility is looking in the C:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386 folder,
however, all the files the installer appears to be searching for are in the
folder.

What can I do to overcome this hurdle?

THis is the best advice that i can come up with. put in your windows cd goto
clean install, when it prompts you to repair the os do so. wait til it
finsihes. IF yours is at all like mine you will have to restart. than you
should have the ability to copy and paste. get a back up drive backup
important data. than wipe you HDD and start over. i spent about 5 hours + on
this and this is the best plan i think that might work.
