Hey,
After reading the spam about the Linux reseller, I got to wondering
about being a reseller. I am thinking about starting my own web design
business and thought this might be something to add to my services. I did
a Google search and didn't really find a lot of helpful info. I did find
some and started reading through it. I am looking for info about what to
look out for, is it worth it, should one choose a local provider. etc etc.
Links are great and all info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Reasonable. Excellent support. Everything you could ask for. Almost anyway.
As a reseller, you get the unlimited version of all the goodies.
www.hostforweb.com
check out the reseller program.
cpanel and web host manager included.
where many others only offer limited services at 3 times the price, these
guys should not be over looked. >> Stay informed about: Info about being a webhost reseller |

Choose one that has
- everything you need to run your own site including demos of what you can
do for your customers
- a telephone number
- an address
- a reputation worth maintaining
- 24hr on site security
- fire/flood/vandal/terrorist protection
- independent power supply
- a clue wrt the service part of "customer service"
- more network connectivity that you can shake a stick at
- no need to say 'unlimited' - ever.
local has advantages because you
- get to talk to real people face to face
- can add a base-ball bat to your negotiation armoury
- exchange sexual favours for network facilities

Hi Shanon,
You can find what your looking for at www.simplyhosting.net I have a
reseller account with them and they have everything William Tasso suggested
that you may want with a hosting company. The support is awesome, Gustave
and Steve will answer *any* question you may have and usually with one hour
and if you post it in the forum you usually get an answer in under
30minutes. They also put their up-time stats online for viewing. The price
is awesome and the packages are awesome. Im very happy I found them.=) If
you decide to go with them, let them know Erik Smith referred you. >> Stay informed about: Info about being a webhost reseller |

I would have to agree with the comments made already....I would stay
away from "Unlimted" host providers. Web design is quite a saturated
market, so you may want to start off by doing sites cheaply. This
helps build your portfolio and you can then start to charge the
current market rates. Hosting wise, look for a provider who has good
feedback and can maybe direct you to some URLs they currently host. If
they have forums, take a good look around to check for customer
support and responses.

Looks like you may get a few offers but before you even consider them I
would recommend going to http://www.webhostingtalk.com and checking out the
reseller forums.
People there have been involved in reselling and have experience with most
hosts. They will give you a good idea on what is 'really' a good price (from
a resellers point of view) and there are also lots of links to information
about starting a reselling business that you wont get from most hosts! >> Stay informed about: Info about being a webhost reseller |
