Increase your Google ranking? I've had an idea!

I've only just found this group, I hope this is appropriate here.

It is well documented that your Google ranking doesn't depend on META
tags, but relies on how many other sites link to you. I've got a
non-profit-making campaign site that I want to promote, and I'm sure
many of you here are in the same position.

Here's my idea. If everyone in this group had a web page with links to
other sites, those sites will get a better Google ranking. You don't
have to link to the "links" page itself, it can be an "orphan", but the
Google spiders will still find it.

If you want to add a site, reply to this message (please trim the quoted
text) with the URL of the site. After a week or so, harvest the URLs and
make a page of links (I'll also post the HTML here).
