This is a limitation of the desktop OS. It is enabled on server versions.

| I suprisingly found this error message this morning when trying to connect
| REMOTELY to my web servers:
| "the server actively refused the connection"
| (it works locally fine)

| when I go to the IIS Management, I found on the Security tab that the button
| for "IP adress restriction" is disabled !
| even on any sub folder or web application folder.

| I don't remenber if this feature is disabled by behavior on IIS running on
| workstations (w2k or XP), but i don't think so
| or if it is beceause of the recent patches ( all the available patches were
| applied, consequently to the various worms)...

| this problem appears today on of my 3 PC running XP corp and w2k pro with or
