Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

We have an Intranet (web) application running on Windows 2000 Server SP4 that
only accessed via the company WAN. We have about 40 branches on the WAN. The
web site has about 900k hits a day and of those I am seeing about 1k with
HTTP sc-status = 400 and sc-win32-status = 64. The timeTaken value ranges
from 318781 to 0. This affects most branches on the WAN.

Do you have any ideas what might be causing IIS to record these errors ?

Thanks

Dave

We have a very similar problem, let us know if you get anywhere.

Win32 status code 64 is "The specified network name is no longer available" - which I have read can be ignored with a HTTP 200 response, but I have found nothing about it with HTTP 400.

When we get these errors in the IIS log we also get Connection_Dropped errors in the HTTPERR log files, and sometimes HttpException messages from our ASP.NET application. The only information on Connection_Dropped I can find from Microsoft is that the message is reserved for future use, which is clearly not the case.
