Hello,
I have Server 2003 with IIS installed. Web Service Extentions are all allowed. IIS Admin Service is running. My Website will not open. The default website does not work either. IIS 5.0 on Server 2000 works fine, but IIS 6.0 on Server 2003 does not work. The pages within each website are greyed out. I think I have a configuration problem. Any ideas?

Thank you

I'm not sure what you mean by the pages being grayed out?

1. Can you browse to HTM pages or both HTM and ASP do not serve?
2. What message are you getting in the browser when you try to access the
site?
3. If you change the service to run in IIS 5.0 isolation mode do you get
the same behavior? (Right-click on Web Sites, Properties, Service Tab)
4. Is there anything in the event viewer?
5. Are the application pools that the site is running under started?

I have the same problem. Was this ever resolved? If so what was the
procedure to fix it.

Thanks,

I asked several questions but never received an answer to determine what
the cause was.

Hi Miriam,

I work for The Pampered Chef in Addison, IL and we just upgraded our
Servers from NT4.0 to Win2003. During the time I was running NT4.0
with IS I have this software called Impromptu Web Reports.

Installing the software on the NT4.0 Environment

1. Configure the Web Server with 3 Aliases and map them to the
location and set the permission.
2. Setup Default Document
3. When ever I go to a browser and Type the name of the server Example
\\servername\cognos the logon screen for COGNOS comes up.

Installing the software on the WIN 2003 Environment

1. Configure the Web Server with 3 Aliases and map them to the
location and set the permission.
2. Setup Default Document
3. When ever I go to a browser and Type the name of the server Example
\\servername\cognos the logon screen for COGNOS does not come up.
The error page that comes up is below.

Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this problem. Any assistance
is welcomed!
