Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

I just had to have a new hard drive put in - and was installing all my
programs back on and put FP 2002 on (thru Office XP) then downloaded live my
sites from the internet to a folder called MY WEBS on the hard drive...and
then discovered that I have to install the IIS back in - so should I
uninstall Office XP and get rid of FP before I install IIS or is it ok to
install IIS since FP is already on? I am missing my localhost that I was
used to ... help help help Smile

Go ahead and install IIS, though you may need to reinstall FP2002 on
top of it again. It should work without removing Office XP/FrontPage.

I did that Jeff - but I keep getting the error

FP has detected a web server conflict on port 80, which has server ext fo
rthe fp personal web srver but is running a Microsoft -IIS/5.1 Server. Fp
requies that you intall the fp server ext on this new server before using
it. Would you like to see help on how to do this?

so I clicked on Yes ... and of course the file could not be found ...

can you help me out here?

thanks!

Uninstall IIS and FPSE first. Also, use the FPSE from Microsoft's
downloads, not the install from the Office CD.

Jeff - I've uninstalled IIS and uninstalled OFFICE (so everything, not just
FP was uninstalled - does that remove the FPSE??) ..I'm in the process of
downloading the file:

fpse02_x86_ENG.exe and FPSE1002 -

my question - do I reinstall IIS from the XP PRO CD first, then intall the 2
files I downloaded and THEN reinstall MIcrosoft Office XP?? How do I get fp
2002 on my computer from the CD without letting it install over the 2
files?? Your help is greatly appreciated - please walk me thru installing
this if you can

thanks
Pam
