I've set up Apache 2.0.44 / PHP 4.3.2 on a Windows 2000 Server machine on
my LAN for the purpose running a tiny intranet website. It runs properly,
except for one incredibly vexing problem -- and I'm not even sure it's
Apache-related. On all the machines in my LAN besides the server, the
website shows up minus all graphics (broken links) and minus the
stylesheets. These files are loaded with relative URLs like "styles.css"
and "images/new.png". Everything displays perfectly on the server machine,
in IE. From a machine on the LAN, if I try to enter the full path to one
such image file, I get a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" rather than file not
found. The Apache access log reports 200 and 304 statuses on the image and
stylesheet files when accessed by a client (which seem benign). The error
log only reports anything when I try to hit an image file with the full
path -- then it says "File Does Not Exist" and gives me a partial path (?).
I have of course disabled all firewall / antivirus software on the machines
while testing. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Matt Grimm
