I have a website that for years was #1 in it's search criteria on Google.
Recently it all but disappeared from the search engine but yet maintains a
#1 at Yahoo. I thought Google and yahoo shared a ranking system and
database? Any ideas?

Way down deep in the middle of the congo, brucie and a hippo took an apricot a
guava and a mango. Stuck it with the others and he danced a dainty tango...

Hi,

Yahoo use to work with other search engines and does not use Google anymore. I think they work with Overture.

Sorry for loosing you place in Google. It is very important cause Google power most of the serach engines.

But Google also went on Yahoo way... they commercialize themselves step by step. Well I wish them to grow more but they need to keep their site ranking system non-commercial!

Best Regards
D.

Overture is not a search engine. It's an ad placement system much like
Google's Adsense and Yahoo owns Overture. I think Google still provides
some results to Yahoo.
