Greetings,
We have a small LAN with 12 clients (Windows 2000) and a server
(Windows 2000 Server) which acts as a domain controller and as a SUS
server. I want to make an intranet site, and host it on the server.
The first time I tried to publish my site via Frontpage XP, I got the
error "Unable to create a Web for the URL "/" because its root
directory, path1, falls below the root of another Web in the
directory, path2". I've checked KB201522 but it didn't make much
sense. Doing a little investigation I've found out that SUS is
installed as a Virtual Directory under the '_private' folder of the
Default Web Site. I assume that it's SUS that causing the error.
I then created another folder outside the C:\Inetpub hierarchy ,
followed the instructions of KB301392 only to get "Server error: Error
2 opening registry key "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server
Extensions\Ports\Port 80".
In IIS Management snap-in, Configure Server Extensions fails again
with the "Unable to create..." error.
What do I do?
Thank you for your time,
