Please Give Feedback on my Perfume E-commerce Site

Hi

I found the flash on the homepage quite off putting, and made me want to
leave the site, instead of staying. It becomes very irriating after a short
period.

Also, you've designed the site for monitors larger than 800 x 600
resolution. It's proven that the majority of people still uses 800 x 600.
Well, that is the case in the statistics for my site
(www.scott-e-xperience.com). The majority of people still use 800 x 600,
and I'm one of them. Because of this, I was scrolling horizontally on your
homepage, which is very off putting, and very annoying.

You have wasted space on the right hand side, which could be utilised a bit
better.

Apart from that, a well thought out site.

I apologize. I should have looked closer and rejected this site.

The shopping cart does not provide any security for sensitive personal
information or credit card numbers. This site should be taken off-line
until the problems are corrected.

Blocking View>Source is also something I will not support or promote.

Har00n,

I stand here looking at your site from both a designers' and a
buyers perspective and feel that the following issues may need
to be looked at and investigated a little more;

1. Security (SSL) for your shopping cart. People are hesitant to
trade with a party whom does not value security and privacy
of their information

2. Why do you need the page counter? Eg. "15063 requests
since Friday 05 March, 2004" This does nothing more than
filling in space. Visitors do not need to see this, the web site
owners do, but they should be able to get the same statistics
from their web host.

3. Constancy. Keep all of your fonts the same. There seems to
be a confused array of fonts and colours within the "About
Perfumes' area. The tiny black print of most of the articles/
comments is ok, until you go to "Glass Perfumes". This needs
to be fixed. I got a shock coming to that page, and I am sure that
others may also.

4. Limiting the number of 'required' fields in your feedback form.
Be grateful for whatever people will tell you. Fair enough, name,
e-mail and one field, but all of them? A bit over the top I think.
Pus putting the * next to them does not change the coding, none
of them are actually required, I found this out as I submitted a
completely blank form.

5. Along the lines of consistency and the feedback form, why is the
thank you page all blue? When the perfume pages are all pink?

I hope that this have given you a starting point for working some
things out in your site. While many of these comments may be taken
as negative feedback, they are all said to allow you to improve.
Nothing should be taken offence to but seen, rather, as a learning tool
