I cannot use virtualhosts in my config due to my router so am using:

http://domain/userdir

How do I allow ftp access for that user for their own specific
directory? (If so, can you show an example) My 2 books don't show a
lot of examples so I keep scouring the postings

Will it be easier if I use .htaccess?

Running it on Windows y2k

Thanks

Daz

I wasn't aware that Apache could act as an ftp server. Try reading the
documentation for your ftpd.

you have to setup a 3rd party ftp server program, and configure it manualy
for each user
you could use the ftp part of IIS, errr if you haveit, look in add/remove,
windows setup
IIS is not the best thing ever though, it's got more holes than swiss cheese

Virtual hosting has nothing to do with your router. I host many domains on
dsl with a dynamic ip behind a router.

This is a decent windows ftp server http://www.blackmoonftpserver.com/ free
for 10 users/connections, works behind a router etc. though I use proftpd on
FreeBSD.
