i think that the standard IIS/SMTP server stinks.
is your stand alone server using someone's front end to
the standard IIS SMTP server? like ASPEmail or something
of that nature?
how do you pass the form to this server? there must be
some documentation that is available for the one you are
using that would cover authentication. it probably also
supports restricting the form submission to a single IP
address (ie. restricting it to your frontpage website's
server's IP address)
what is this email server running? is it even windows
based?
i am hoping in some karmic way that by answering your
questions, my own will be answered
