Post subject: Dreamweaver Issue
Archived from groups: alt>www>webmaster, others (more info?)

I made my site based on a dreamweaver template.

For some reason when I update the template and save it - the template asks
me if I'd like to update the other pages using this template. When I do
save it .. whether i use save/save as/save all - The template always seems
to not update certain pages. ((and they differ each time)). After redoing
it a few times...sooner or later a couple more pages are updated that
weren't before..however there are still a few pages that aren't being
updated Sad

My site is located at http://www.atbdoor.com

Anyone have any insight on this? I'd really appreciate it!

It does that. It has always done it. That's why I don't bother anymore.

Sorry but...

Do you have access to ASP / PHP SHTML or any other serverside stuff? reason
being use Includes... change one file and, well its all changed, also CSS is
important...

DW 04 - good choice, if you really know how to use it, it really is a superb
tool, I do reccomend using a good knowledge of HTML / related programming
languages it will serve you well.

Also the DW community is very good at answering questions... they have there
own news server...

Not answering your question GD, but do you really need to use a program to
make your HTML? You are a slave to its foibles then.

Check that everything's OK according to
<http://www.dw-fw-beginners.com/tutorials/drmwvr/templ_faq.htm>. If that
doesn't help, here's a recent thread in macromedia.dreamweaver
<http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=bughn1%24cgn%241%40forums.macromedia.com>

I love the pointy stick & dirt method, too. But how do I get the
finished site on my webserver? The computer always makes those funny
noises when I try to pour the dirt into it!

Thanks for the information. I was worried that BZZZTTT! POP! CRACKLE!
BOOM! accompanied by a funny smell and gray smoke might indicate there's
a problem. I'm glad you set me straight.

Personally I don't have problems reading top posts. Specially with threads
where some people quote all the quotes and scrolling down becomes a
nuisance. Learning to quote properly is more important than the issue of
top posting.
