Post subject: Default SMTP Server
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Hi all,

My default SMTP server has disappeared from my IIS MMC Snap-in
console after un-installing and re-installing. After it didn't appear
initially, I un-installed, rebooted, then re-installed the SMTP and POP3
services on Windows 2003 Server. both times the SMTP Default Virtual
server or any of the menu options pertaining to the SMTP server are
unavailable. Anybody know how to get this back in the IIS snap in or
does anybody know how to open a stand alone SMTP server snap-in console?
I really need to configure our SMTP server to allow relaying from our
domain as we are unable to communicate with the outside world until I
can get to this snap-in! any help appreciated!

Hello,

a.. Click Start, then Run and type cmd and press ENTER.
b.. Type regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\inetsrv\smtpsnap.dll

Thanks Kristofer - that definitely helped. Although I found that I had
to do the same for inetmgr.dll as well. Thanks again!
