Why would the format of dates in an Access 2000 database change?

We have an intranet on a Small Business Server 2000 using Access 2000
and ASP. The Regional Settings on the server are UK English. Some days
the date information submitted to the database is in UK format, but on
other days it is US - even though the code writing to the db is the
same. Is it possible that the regional settings are overidden by something?
