What's this company Intelliseek all about?
Exactly what data are they mining from me anyway?
Is it just an annoyance or is it something I should be concerned about?

They are checking your website(s) for copyright infingement.
Charging their 3rd party customers a fee and using your bandwidth.
Failing in the process to share the profits with you for either your
bandwith or copyright infringement Wink

Intelliseek - Shows up as a user agent
Associated with this ip - 64.158.138.48
22 hits today.

These stats are from webalizer I couldn't
find them in the raw stats. Actually
it looks like I can't even access my raw stats
I wonder how long that't been going on.
I'll have to check into that.

That can just represent one page.

Just a curiosity question: Why is this important?

Why would you want to expend bandwidth and server resources to deliver pages
to a service that does zero for you? That's why.

He has 22 more hits than he did yesterday...maybe he can charge more for
advertising. Otherwise, password protect your site or exclude through the
..htaccess

I'm not sure if it is important. That's why I asked.
I want(ed) to know what they are mining for.
I think it's a little more than trademark infringement
that was suggested earlier, but who knows.
I sent them an email but guess what? No reply.
Surprise, Surprise.

Here's an excerpt from the email I got from them...
==============================
Brian,

> Why do I see your brand name in my refferer logs?...

Intelliseek has a crawler that explores the web. Our crawler not only
crawls at a leisurely rate so as not to impact site performance, but it
adheres to the robots exclusion protocol, avoiding any public sites which
prohibit crawlers.

> And how come you don't include a URL for your bot like google does?

We do. It will show up as follows in your site logs:

"GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 876 "-" "Mozilla/4.7 (compatible; Intelliseek;
http://www.intelliseek.com)"

We also specify an email address (crawler@intelliseek.com) in the From
header so webmasters know how to contact us with questions.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any further concerns.

Regards,
