Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Hi,

An instance of DLLHOST.exe running on my W2K server appears to have
developed a memory leak, and I can't understand where it is coming
from. I've setup all the sites to run in High (Isolation) mode, so
each site has its own DLLHOST.exe however COM Services still shows one
IIS Out-Of-Process Pooled Applications process as running. It's this
one that has the leak.

I don't understand why a pooled instance is still occurring as all of
the sites hosted are running in High (Isolation) mode.

Would anyone know of any tools that would allow me to see what this
Pooled instance of IIS is doing or where all the memory is going? Or
site/application it actually comes back to?

Setup is

W2K SP3
MDACS 2.7RTM
IIS5
Sites are all running asp.

Thanks

Neil

I would recommend upgrading MDAC before troubleshooting a memory leak (which
is not a trivial exercise). There is a known leak that is fixed in
MDAC2.7SP1.

Thanks for the info, are there any known problems with MDACs 2.8? Or
would i be better going for 2.7SP1?

Thanks

Neil

Any fixes in 2.7SPx were part of 2.8. I would encourage going to 2.8.
