Post subject: IIS DAV Metabase Entries?
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Hello all,

Quick question about yesterday's security advisory MS04-030 about
vulnerabilities in WebDAV. The FAQ section for the advisory says:

"You can configure these new limits by using metabase entries. If an
application requires documents that would otherwise be rejected, you can
adjust the metabase entries to support the required content. The new
metabase configurations are documented in Microsoft Knowledge Base article
824151."

However, the linked KB article 824151 contains no information on metabase
entries.

Can somebody point me to where I'd find those entries?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Fred,

I'm not sure why the article was pulled, but I checked on our end and we
can still send the HotFix to customers. You'll need to open a support
incident with Microsoft Support, but it's a free case since it's for a
HotFix.

Hope this helps!

Thank you Kyle,
I obtained this hotfix but it is for Windows 2003.
I have a 2000 Advanced Server. Can you verify if this fix will still work
for me?
I have two executables, probably one dll or ocx and symbols. No notes or
install instructions at all.

Regards,
Fred
