Hi,
I am student of Masters of Information Technology (MIT) pursuing it
from The University of Adelaide. Now due to some bad guidance before
the admission to this University I took the course here. The course is
very good but I suppose for the area that I am interested in. Here's
what I am interested in:
>From what I gather, it seems that when a company wants to implement ERP
software there are two stages involved designing and implementation.
Design - a team of consultants/analysts analyze what the company's
different functional blocks are and design a system accordingly. Then
the implementation bit is done by developers in true software. I am
interested in the first role of analyst/consultant. Questions:
1) Is the information I have correct or incorrect?
2) What are such analysts/consultants called? i.e. what is the name of
this position/designation?
3) Given my degree (and my background as Electronics enginee) can I
work in this role?
4) What sort of subjects should I focus on to enable me to work in this
role in the future?
5) Do I need any specialised training of any sort or is work experience
in some field (what field?) imperative to start work in such a role?
6) Do any companies offer graduate internship programs for training for
such roles?
7) Is it worth it?
Thankyou for any guidance.
All your time and effort in responding to this message is truly
appreciated.
regards,
Sean
