Confused between Tomcat 4 and 5

I am reading some "HowTo's" I have found on the web and easiest to read (for
me anyhow) relate to Tomcat 4. However this has brought up a couple of
questions.

Q1. In version 4, there appears to be 2 flavours, LE and non-LE. For version
5 I find only one download so is there now only 1 flavour?

Q2. I read if want to run both PHP and JSP from one server, I need a mod_jk
connector. Am I right in assuming that version 1.2 of this connector is for
previous Tomcat versions (4.xx and earlier) and version 2 is for the current
one (5.xx and later)?

What has confused is that I looked at this page

386.rpm.html after finding this link on a "HowTo" and you will see the
description says mod_jk2 is for Tomcat 4.x.
