I have configured a web site as a Shared Directory on another computer.
But when I try to launch the site, I get error "HTTP 500"

I tried anonymous authentication, basic authentication. Nothing works.

What else should I look into?

Thank you,
-Me

Hi,

In Internet Explorer:

Click Tools->Internet Options
Click the Advanced tab
Disable "Show friendly http error messages"

You should now get a more informative error message than the general 500
error. If you cannot understand the error message, please post it and we
will try to help you.

Kristofer,

Thanks for the reply!
I unchecked "Show friendly http error messages" in advanced tab.
But still I get the same error. Note that when I try to launch the page
on the iis server where I have configured the web site, even there it
doesn't come
up. It shows the same error message as follows -

Please try the following:

Contact the Web site administrator to inform them that this error has
occured for this URL address.
HTTP Error 500 - Internal server error.
Internet Information Services (IIS)

Another point to be noted is when I configure it to just 'C' drive on that
computer
it works, I have problem only with network drives. I already tried changing
the authentication from anonymous to basic, etc. nothing works.

Thank you for your time.
