How many users can I have on a small PC (1.8gig, w/1 gig memory, running windows 2000)? I tried to have about 40 people access the same page within a few seconds of each other. Most of them were not able to get in. I have two questions...

How many users can I have access a small PC?

How can I increase the number of users?

you are probably using Windows 2000 Professional. It is
limited to 10 concurrent connections and cannot be
changed. 2 - 3 people can quickly use up 10 connections
at one time...

If you want more, upgrade to a server OS...

In addition to Doug's comment ...

There's no simple answer, as it totally depends upon your bandwidth,
hardware resources, and what your application is doing and how it is doing
it. So the short answer is: more bandwidth, more memory and processor, and
more efficient code.
