Post subject: Binding to LDAP usnig CNAME
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

Hi All,

During the course of building an internal website to run some ad-hoc LDAP
queries, I noticed that I can only run them successfully when I browse to
the site using it's Active Directory FQDN. If I use a CNAME, I get a
"Provider error '80040e37' Table does not exist" message. I'm using classic
ASP and VBScript to build the pages. I thought maybe I needed additional
SPNs, so I added HTTP/cname and HOST/cname to the AD computer name
properties for the IIS box with the exact same result. As soon as I go back
to using the FQDN, it automagically starts working again. Environment is
Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 with IIS 6.0 Any help is appreciated!
