How to stop IIS from binding to all IP addresses??? - Hi all, my problem is the I want to run Apache and IIS on the same machine. Whereas Apache strictly binds to only those IPs I assign to it, IIS always binds to the address I assign to it, plus it returns the following nice message on all..

"Address already in use" - tried everything - Win2K running IIS5 I get this error whenever I try to start the default web site which is bound to port 81 on all (or FTP site, although I don't need that). Also running on this machine is Apache on port 80 and Kerio personal firewall. SSL..

"Address already in use" - tried everything - IIS5 on Win2K Getting already in use" when I try to start default web site on port 81. Apache is also running on this machine but on port 80. Kerio personal firewall is running on the machine too. There is one NIC in the machine. - Checked..

Address already in use - Some how my web service became corrupt. I couldn't start the www services. So I IIS, rebooted and then IIS. The services start now, but my website won't start. I keep getting a message already in use" I've tried..

Address Already In Use - When IIS 5.0 is loaded the default website is stopped by default it seems. When I attempt to start this an error appears, the title is 'Internet Services Manager', with the message being 'Address already in use'. I can't consult the help file because.

Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

A server that I am working with (running windows 2003
standard) has multiple IP Addresses on it's only Network
Interface.

In IIS Manager, when I create a website, I can only see
(All Unassigned) and the interface's Primary IP. It does
not list the additional IPs allocated to that interface.

This problem appears to affect other utilties on the same
server, so as to not allow me to bind to a specific IP
(unless I manually type it in in IIS). My other utilities
do not allow me to manually type in the IP.

Any suggestions why all the IPs are not visible in the IP
Address Selection in IIS?

Nevermind.. I found the answer.

I had the server's name in it's hosts file, with the
single IP.. I did not reallize that gethostbyname was
being used, and that that function first queried the hosts
file.

After removing the entry, all IPs showed up properly.
