Post subject: Access Denied creating virtual directory with Internet Service Manager
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)
I have a developer that gets Access Denied when trying to create a virtual
directory remotely on IIS6 when using Internet Service Manager from her W2K
machine. I've made sure that she is a member of the local Administrator
group on the web server. I'm not able to make her a domain admin however.

I've found a few other references to this problem but no solutions. Anyone
have any ideas?

Hi,

Are you using the Windows Server 2003 Admin Pack? I know you can use the
IIS 6 Manager to manage a remote IIS 5 machine, but I don't think the
reverse is true

No, I'm not using the Admin Pack. Can this be installed on a W2KPro machine
and if so, how?

There's actually a separate download for the IIS Manager, but no, it can't
be installed on 2000:
