I have some Amazon affiliate stores using various methods of pulling
data from Amazon's web service and my ISP seems to have systematically
disabled all of them without contacting me.

I don't know why. Two of them use Perl CGI so it's possible the CPU
usage was high even though the traffic was not but in such a case I
would expect to be contacted. The others used SOAP which I can't
imagine was a problem.

Is it typical an ISP will disable a customers web sites without
contacting them? For instance, I changed the chmod settings for a CGI
file that I oddly found to be set 000, and after fixing it went back
in an hour later and found it like that again.

Thoughts?

Eric

It happens. Better to have your own dedicated server, then you can do
what you like! (within legal and bandwidth allowance restraints).
