Archived from groups: microsoft>public>inetserver>iis (more info?)

My company has a mix of web applications on one web server running IIS 5.0. Some applications are ASP and some are ASP.NET. The problem is that, according to the Windows Task Manager on the machine, the ASPNET_WP.exe process keeps grabbing more and more memory throughout the day, without releasing any back to the machine. Eventually the server must be rebooted because it runs out of memory. Does anybody know why this happens? And if so, is there a fix to prevent this from happening?

This description, is for us impossible to give any hints to you. We or
somebody should have a look at the code.
b.t.w it's always good, to have the latest .NET runtime including service
pack available. It's known that .NET is not 100% leak free, especially when
it enters unmanaged code.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
