I have an NT4 Server (SBS 4.5) running IIS. All ASP applications that are virtual directories under the default web site (including iisadmin and OWA) will not operate. Either pages are not found or internal server error 500 (no additional error information is disclosed and debugging is enabled). Yet, the administration web site works fine (same as the iisadmin virtual directory but a different port). What gives? I must be missing something simple. I have checked setting betweeen the two but cant find any differences.

Start here:

Why do I get a 500 Internal Server error for all ASP errors?

You need to set the rights to the Database. The database needs to have
Write Access.

Hello Anonymous,

It sounds like maybe your anonymous account isn't working correctly? Since
not all asp's are failing...

Have you checked your event logs? Are you Crashing IIS? Is there an
account being locked out?

Check the security logs too...

Report back what you find there...

Also, make sure you test Simple ASP in the site that's failing. You may
wish to drop the application ISOLATION to LOW to see if that fixes the
problem... or rather if that masks the issue

Thank you,

Tony DeVere [MSFT]
