500 Internal Server Error - The target principal name is
incorrect. (-2146893022)
.... is the error received in the browser when accessing
OWA from a browser outside the domain. Basic
authentication is used with SSL and local browsers are
accessing the page via ISA web publishing and proxy client.

The domain name is xxxxx.local and the website is
published as owa.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com.au

iis is set to host header matching the second URL above.
ISA is set to same host header to define the Destination
set and publishing rule.

Email accounts are set to primary SMTP
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com.au ....not xxxxx.local. Email sent
from OWA locally is being delivered correctly with correct
reply address.

Technet provides for KB308244, a similar error, but it
relates to iis 4.0., we are using basic authentication
only and password changes are accepted. The number on this
error is (-2146893055) as opposed to (-2146893022) which
we are receiving.

Can anyone advise? Technet returns 0 responses on searches
using the 2146893022 string.
