Post subject: apache 2.0.48 + ssl
Archived from groups: alt>apache>configuration (more info?)

hi @ all,

i want do use the latest apache 2.0.48 with ssl (i use the latest openssl
version 0.9.7c)

i configured with:
../configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache2/2.0.48 --enable-ssl --with-ssl=/usr/
local/openssl/0.9.7c --enable-so
make an make install of course

i have generated with openssl the crt und key files.

i have no dns-server running. in the file httpd.conf i just changed
ServerName to 10.0.0.69. that was all.
and the ssl.conf:

<IfDefine SSL>
Listen 443
<VirtualHost _default_:443>
ServerName 10.0.0.69:443

i just changed the ServerName in the ssl.conf. that was all.

when i start the apache with "apachectl -k start -DSSL" there are no error
messages. when i enter localhost 10.0.0.69 everything ist ok (http port 80),
but port 443 isn't working.

do you have some ideas? the error_log:

caught SIGTERM, shutting down
[notice] Apache/2.0.48 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.48 OpenSSL/0.9.7c configured --
resuming normal operations

thanks

'isn't working' means? do you get an error? what kind of error?
is port 443 opened?

isn't working means, i get an error with "The Page Cannot Be Displayed"

but i don't know why. i've checked the httpd.conf and ssl.conf. i've done
the configuration of the apache several times.
but always the same, https still isn't working.

That's quite vague... 'cannot be displayed' because isn't found,
because you don't have the right or what? It looks like the https
part is working anyway.

Check the log files of apache.

the log files ar empty or there is no error message.
the error_log:
[notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down
[notice] Apache/2.0.48 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.48 OpenSSL/0.9.7c configured --
resuming normal operations

always the same

Ok, and what about the access_log? Are you looking at the _correct_
logfiles?

Finally, it is working!
I changed in the file httpd.conf Listen ip-address:80 and in the ssl.conf
Listen ip-address:443. It seems, that was the problem

Thank you very much for your help! Perhaps I must ask you for the rights for
the user or group in httpd.conf. But first of all I will check
the newsgroup and yahoo and google.
