I am getting an error when installing apache 2.2.47 in Windows 2000 SP3,
error occurs when trying to create the service it says cannot binf to
0.0.0.0:80 because it's already in use. I've disabled all of the IIS
service but no joy.

Can anyone help?

TIA

I don't think you will be able to make that happen - I believe that W2K/XP
reserve that IP for port 135/445/455 (RPC and svhost).. Basically - Win 32
uses 0.0.0.0 to generate dynamic ports for services as needed (assuming you
are actually trying to use 0.0.0.0 - which you may not - Apache may have
defaulted that way)..

Try setting up the machine with a regular IP (not DHCP) and adding it to
apache config to confirm that nothing else is wrong with the installation -
then work out from there.. If you are trying to serve on a network, you
will need to make sure that the IP is not is use and that you can assign a
machine a fixed IP via your ISP/LAN (assuming you want to present the
server to the the outside world)..

Best of luck..
