Post subject: Apache2.0.47 cannot find some documentation
Archived from groups: alt>apache>configuration (more info?)

Hi, I've just installed 2.0.47 om Win2K as a service alongside version 1.
Links from the manual page are not being found
eg. localhost/manual/modules/... as an example.
I'm confused because some docs are found and most are not.
The install was completely standard and all the doc directories exist under
manual.
I noticed that the html files have changed from version1 using XML.
Maybe i need to config some XML???

I've also got v1 running and that finds all its docs ok. (not at the same
time)

I'm not sure if there is a problem with 2.0.47

Hope someone can help
Regards Nigel

Ran into this problem also.. Weird, it happened right after I was
looking though the HTTPD GUI congiration program running on Linux RH9. I
believe that somehow, even though I said NO, it altered the httpd.conf
file and made changes.. bummer. didn't look at the file before, but..
after examining the httpd.conf, I discovered that it was missing the
Alias to the /manual/ directory. All you do it make sure you have this
Alias in their, set it up just like the Alias to the /icons/ directory.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help Richard, however it didn't help.
I examined the entry for ^/manual... in httpd.conf
It was there ok, and significantly different from v1.3 -- its all XML, it
appears as though the html help files are generated by XML into an
appropriate nationality.
Not that it means anything to me when it just doesn't work; and I dony know
enough/anything about the XML to start debugging.

Strange other behaviour is that sometimes localhost wont even be found in
the browser; yet everythings fine in v1.3. I thought it said 2.0.47 was
stable???

I'm not sure how to persue this one further.
Regards Nigel
p.s. I'll be learning XML shortly but I doubt to the standard of Apache org<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
