Hi Folks,

I nearly successfully went over to use Apache 2.0.47 instead of a
1.3.X-Version. All went well - I can start the Server without
problems, but trying to use "apachectl stop" end in an error message:
/usr/sbin/apachectl stop: httpd (no pid file) not running

Well, I did have a look in the /usr/sbin/apachectl file - it seems as
if apache20 should create a pid-file called httpd.pid in /var/run -
but it doesn't - creating that pid-file manually with the correct pid,
apache stops correctly. So, what can I do now to fix that problem?

Thxs for replies!

Does apache have the right to write in /var/run? The location of the
pid file is in the httpd.conf file, change the location in it and
put the file in a directory where he can write.
