IIS6 404 errors with unknown file types

Hi All,

I am sure this will be down to the stricter default security settings in
IIS6 but I cant find anything on the web or in earlier postings. My problem
is that any link to a non-standard file type in all my IIS6 servers (mixture
of Win2003 Std and WE) results in a 404 page not found error rather than the
file download dialogue kicking in.

Creating a folder with browse rights will show all the files in a folder and
clicking on an asp, exe, htm, txt or zip linkworks fine, but most other file
types result in a 404 page.

The servers are working fine otherwise so, as IIS5 never used to do this, I
have to assume it is a setting that, hopefully, can be disabled or at least
allow me to add support file types.

Can anyone advise?
