I have a system that is running iis V6.0 with Windows 2003 Server. How do I
tell if it has a 32 bit version or a 64 bit version of IIS?
And Second how do I obtain the 64 bit version?

Thanks for any info,

Tim

Hello,

Do you have a 64-bit Itanium-based system? That is the only system (i
think, unless something has changed) that is compatible with the 64-bit OS.

The 64-bit version would be in the 64-bit OS, which can only be installed
on 64-bit systems.

Well, for starters if you didn't pay a whole bunch of money for a 64
bit Itanium server and 64 bit version of the OS, you aren't running
it. Second, look at the Server 2003 system screen and check the
version of the OS. (Control Panel -. System).

Call your favorite reseller and hand over your credit card. Tell them
you need a system it will run on as well.

IIS is the same bitness as the underlying OS.

There is no such thing as 32bit IIS on 64bit Windows or 64bit IIS on 32bit
Windows.

Also, 64bit IIS will support running 32bit web applications with WS03SP1.

Unless you are running WS03SP1 on AMD64 or running WS03 on Itanium, you are
likely running 32bit OS and IIS.
