Archived from groups: alt>apache>configuration (more info?)

Hello,

I am running Apache 1.3 on Debian and since tody it doesn't
work any more like before.

The Problem is following:
At my localhost I don't configure the index.*** to open
automatically, I switched Directory Listings on so I open my
index-files by click.

I upgraded my Debian Distribution yesterday and since today
I can not open some files. Almost all files called index.php
and some other .php-files, too. He just doesn't do nothing
on clicking on the file (doesn't matter the file content) in
the directory listing.

Another problem that appeared is that php files, like a
phpinfo-file or any other with a little bit of more content
don't are transmitted completely.
The last Part of the files is missing.

And post-forms aren't submitted like they should be submitted.

I have now Apache/1.3.29 and PHP 4.3.3.
I tried to reinstall Apache yet, but it doesn't change anything.

Why does this happen?
Is it a problem that can be solved by changing something in
the httpd.conf?

Thx in advance for your help.

Saludo
Paul.

It looks like your upgrade fried your PHP installation.

Thx.

I dpkg-purged apache and php and reinstalled both.
Well... without including any php extensions (php 4.3.3) it
works and the phpinfo() is displayed coorectly, up to the
end and loading the logos of php and zend, too.
Mysql and GD2 are installed and they do appear in the
phpinfo, but I can't call the respective functions.

If I include extension=mysql or/and extension=gd2 the MySQL
and GD2 Support works, but I have the same problem as I had
before - the pages aren't loaded completely.
In the phpinfo page, for example, he loads the page content
up to the table of the PHP Variables and he do not load the
PHP Logo at the top of the page.

(Ah, btw, i am running apache on Debian unstable.)

Seems to me that the problem is limited to the php4-gd2 (3:4.3.2+rc3-2
Debian:testing) package I removed gd2 support and I had no more problems
(I don't realy use GD support anyway, I just have it in case I need to
use it for some testing purposes).

Not sure if this helps in any way.
